My husband eats, sleeps and dreams golf. He would play every day if we weren't living in snowy Michigan right now. His favorite place to golf is at Walt Disney World.
Every vacation he manages to squeeze in a couple rounds of golf during our stay. One year I decided to surprise him and booked a Disney vacation which included a golf package so he could play each magnificent course while we were there.
Each day for 5 days he was able to play golf to his hearts content. Two of those days I arranged for one of our daughters to accompany him as they were both varsity players in high school. On the last day I went along as a rider and golf critic!
Transportation to the golf course if you are a guest at a Disney resort is free of charge. All we needed to do was to go down to the valet desk or bell services and they arranged a taxi to pick him up. When he was done golfing the pro shop at the course he was at called for a taxi to take him back to our hotel.
After the first day of golfing his clubs were forwarded to the course he would play the next day, another complimentary service. First class service is what Disney is all about.
**Palm Golf Course.....this is rated one of America's top 75 courses and one my husband finds easy but challenging (his words). With nine water holes and almost 100 hazards it plays host to the Pro-Am competition during Walt Disney World's Golf Classic. The pictures I've included are from this golf course.
**Magnolia Golf Course.....as the longest of the courses, this keeps my husband playing for a long time! 11 of the 18 holes have water and one of his favorite places to get stuck is at the Mickey shaped sand trap.
**Osprey Ridge......this is my husband's favorite course and one he finds most challenging. This is one course he plays almost each visit to Disney.
**Lake Buena Vista Golf Course......this golf course borders what used to be the Disney Institute but is now Saratoga Springs. My daughter said you better be a straight shooter here. There is an island green on the 7th hole so make sure you have some water balls handy!
**Oak Trail Golf Course......this is the only 9-hole walking course and another that my husband loves to play as it's a quick 9 holes of golf and sometimes you just need the exercise!
**Eagle Pines Golf Course......I mention this golf course but it is now closed and will soon become a golf course for the Four Seasons Resort which is in construction now.
No matter what course you choose to play at Disney, they are each unique, challenging and exciting to play. Each course has a pro shop (shopping), driving range, practice green, locker rooms (spacious and beautiful), snack bar, beverage cart on the course, and shoe & club rentals.
The staff, from the pro shop to the starters are all friendly and accomodating to your every need. This was one vacation my husband keeps asking to do again and would recommend to any avid golfer.
