I wanted to treat myself to some new mixing bowls so I will be well stocked for all the baking I will be doing in the next few months. I was in Bed Bath & Beyond looking for something lightweight, not glass this time.
I noticed this Oxo Good Grips 3 quart mixing bowl and thought it had an interesting design. I purchased it for about 7.99 and couldn't wait to come home and try it. My first project was cookie dough so I could send some homemade cookies to my daughter in college.
This bowl is made of hard white plastic. It has a soft comfortable, non-slip black rubber grip, which I really came to appreciate when I was mixing the tough cookie dough. I also loved the non-skid black rubber bottom, which helped the bowl stay in place on the counter. I also had an occasion to use this bowl to make instant pudding and found the pour spout to be very handy.
This bowl is dishwasher safe, so that's very nice. I did notice after just a few uses, though, the bottom of the inside of the bowl already shows scratches from the beaters.
One drawback is that this bowl is white so it might eventually show stains easily or become discolored. Also, it was made in China and I am trying to buy USA made products whenever possible, a very difficult task to be sure.
I will see how long this bowl lasts and enjoy it while I can. Thanks!
