I just recently bought the new montec G5 broadheads, and though they are sturdy in construction and fly well they are very dull direclty out of the package. I have read other reviews in which they say they are extremly hard to sharpen. However, I had no such difficulty. Right out of the box, the first thing I do with broadheads is see if they can shave the hair on my arms. If not they are not near sharp enough. Then I sharpen them, for the G5 I simply used a coarse grit stone with a little olive oil then switch to a fine grit stone with a little olive oil and the are now razor sharp. Though they are not sharp the construction of this product and the durabiltiy is something to be admired. They are one piece with no screws or detachable blades which I prefer. This way I have no fear of loosing a blade inside of an animal or having to worry about anything else going wrong. They are made out of steel which makes them very durable so hit after hit they continue to be strong. (Know this from a friend who used them last season). Overall these broadheads are great, if you get them on sale as I did, and if you don't mind sharpening them.
