The Cricut machineis truly the coolest paper crafting machine ever! I love it. If you've never seen one, it's basically a computerized paper cutter. You program the text or design you want, put the paper in, press "cut" and off it goes!
The ability to make die cuts in all sorts of sizes and to make customized text titles and icons is such a bonus for scrapbookers and card makers. You want it big? You want it small? All caps? It's all there and it's so easy.
Of course nothing is perfect, so here's the downside. The machine uses a sticky mat to hold the paper in place as it cuts. When the mat is brand new, it sometimes doesn't want to let go of your newly cut letters, making peeling them off a tedious experience. Using the additional tool set you get buy makes this process a little easier.
The other frustration with the Cricut is the necessity for and expense of the additional font cartridges for the machine. Each cartridge only does so much and after awhile you'll want more. Be prepared to pay for it!
Negatives aside, the Cricut is a terrific toy and truly a must have!
