The DV2140 is a full-featured DVD, VHS (4-head, hi-fi stereo), and CD player. It's compatible with DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, on CD-R/CD-RW, MP3/WMA CD, and JPEG image CD, and VHS tapes. watch a DVD and record a TV show simultaneously. You can copy DVDs and CDs to VHS tape.
It can play music (MP3 and WMA files) discs. It has 2 sets of left/right RCA analog-audio outputs and can send audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions and play Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 surround-sound on a full-featured A/V receiver. If you don't have a stereo setup, you can use the 3D Surround to simulate surround sound through 2 speakers. Front A/V inputs are great for camcorder and gaming.
If you have an HDTV, this player uses progressive scanning (480p), which creates a picture using twice the number of scan lines as a conventional DVD. You get higher resolution and sharper images with almost no artifacts. Without an HDTV, you can still get interlaced video with minimal line scan and artifacts. 4-head VCR means it can give smooth slow-motion play and clear still-frame images.
The DVD and VHSs signal use composite-video or S-video and RF coaxial outputs for older TVs.
It has some cool features. The auto clock and channel set are great. EZ Play skips DVD menus and takes you right to the start of your movie;
The box includes the DVD/VCR combo player/recorder, remote control, remote batteries, a user's manual, and a stereo analog audio interconnect/composite-video cable.
At only 16.9 inches wides, it's only slightly wider than a DVD player or VCR and slightly thinner.
I've had this combo for almost three years without a problem. Some say it won't play all types of discs as it says but mine has so far. It's cool to have both a DVD and VCR in one unit because it's saves space, wires, and time.
