I like to listen to music when I'm working in my kitchen, but got tired of moving my portable radio from room to room. As a surprise, my husband bought me a GPX under counter AM/FM/CD radio. It's just what I wanted! I could have music without taking up counter space.
We decided on a practical place, installed it using the handy template and it was ready to go. I turned it on, and go great FM radio signals. With the wire antenna I can receive the FM stations clearly, however AM stations leave much to be desired. There are a few that come in fine, but most are static-filled. So if you're an AM radio listener (at least in my area) you'll be disappointed in the reception. The CD player sounds good, and the CD tray slides in and out smoothly. As an added bonus, there is a connection on the side to hook up your mp3 player. I especially like that feature! It also has a weather channel so you can keep up to date with your local weather reports.
It comes with a remote control that I never use. It seems silly to use the remote when you're standing right in front of it! The controls on the front of the radio are easy to navigate, and switch back and forth between bands. There is an analog clock that is lit in a pretty blue, but it's a "pain" to set. It keeps good time, unless you lose power, and then you have the tedious task of re-setting it. Also lit up in the same blue, is the window that shows the station that's playing.
I love the sleek look of the radio, despite the AM reception problem in my area. It's a good sounding radio that doesn't take up a lot of space in my kitchen.
