The L80X Ultra from Velocity Micro was my choice when I purchased my most recent computer. Having a powerful desktop computer and not wanting to be tied down to the desk I opted this route. The only reason I knew of VM is because I stopped by Best Buy to look at laptops, but I could not find one that had the XP operating system on it. Turns out they had one in the back that had XP Pro on it, guess what the make was. I wasn't really sure about Velocity Micro, and I didn't even get a look at what was inside the box before I purchased...but I was not disappointed.

Sporting a 15.4-inch LCD, 2.0GHz T7200 Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of RAM, 100GB hard drive, nVidia GeForce Go 7600GS graphics, an integrated webcam, and a fingerprint scanner! The L80X Ultra also has a host of USB, Firewire, and other expansion ports. The nVidia even has an S-Video out for displaying on your television.....although this proved to be a pretty difficult thing to do when I tried, I finally did get it to work though.

Some people would laugh at the thought of a Gaming Laptop......To that I have only one qestion. Woulding you like to sit on your back porch in the evening with the fan on playing Guild Wars? I know I sure enjoy it....or anywhere else in my home or any hotspot/hotel I visit. While I do usually removed the battery and run off the powersupply when playing games to avoid the critical battery standby issue....I don't mind having one little wire in my otherwise wireless world...
