I received a DVD yesterday of a true story of a United States Marine Corp Officer Lt. Colonel (played by Kevin Bacon) who volunteers for escort duty the dead body home of a USMC private first class killed in action. I am a big fan of Kevin Bacon Movies and this does not dissapoint. It is very well acted with excellent direction and filming. It is intentially slow and never over the top to show the emotion, inner termoil, and concern of people on a military people killed in action and their path to final burial. It made me tear up with emotion and I would give it 4 on a five star system. I like the suttle points the movie makes and forcing me to think. It comes from the Kevin Bacon perspective but uses only a small amount of dialog and more visual to help tell the true story. It cover a number of primarily US locations that the body travels.
It is extremly appropraite timing for this holiday ( I think it is on HBO also) and only 77 minutes long.
