I purchased this with my laptop. I had used the full version of Premiere before due to work, so I was expecting something clean and easy to use. I was not disappointed. Most of my home videos were in AVI format and Premiere took those with no problems. It was swift and easy to move them into the program. Once there, it was very easy to organize the clips, add transitions, and title or credit pages. I really liked the different menu selections and design options. Since I was making a DVD for several sets of family members, I was able to create four different DVD designs, customized to each family set. I was never confused during the process and it was clear what each step was for each piece of the video.
Once I was done creating it, it was very easy to burn copies to DVDs. Premiere did everything for me, talking me through each step to burn it.
With the purchase, I received some free tutorials through Adobe's site. That has been a great resource for me. I'm not sure if all purchases include that, but it helped me get used to the program.
I did have two problems. The first was that it would not let me have more than 1 scene selection. For example, there were four videos. Two were for one family and two were with another family. I wanted to have a heading (aka a scene) for one family and another heading (a scene) for the other. I could only create one scene, and it would not let me create a second one. It would always try to put the clips into the first scene I created. That was odd and frustrating, and I had to make two separate DVDs, which was a waste of DVDs.
The second problem I had was during the burning stage. It was not easy to figure out how to adjust the DVD speed to accommodate the older DVDs that I had so I had to spend 10 minutes figuring out how to adjust it. I didn't mind doing that, though, considering how easy everything else was.
Overall, this product was excellent. I will use it again for all my video projects.
