I have already used Vodafone Mobile Connect Card 3G/GPRS for about 4 months and this card perfectly connect my Toshiba Laptop to the internet using a mobile phone network. This Vodafone comes in packaged and contain with instruction leaflet and CD driver software beside the PCMCIA card. It’s very easy to install. I need only to put it on my Laptop PCMCIA slot then followed the instructions and checking for a few options before insert the mobile phone SIM card on it. And then it will need to reboot before it ready to use.

This card support both of 3G and GPRS mobile phone network depend on mobile phone provider services. During my usage till now, my best download speed when I got 3G coverage support was up to 320 Kb/s and upload speed around 50 Kb/s. It’s much better than what I got by using WLAN on hotspot near my house. But when I got only GPRS network connection, the download speed was only around 30 Kb/s.

The card has also a small LED which lights up according to the status of the connection. It will lights up red when there is no signal around you, green if it can connect to a GPRS connection and blue if it can connect to 3G network connection. So by these lights I can easily know about our connection status.

This Vodafone also allow me to send or receive SMS. Actually its can also used to connect to a WLAN network but I have never try before, so I can’t give my opinion about it.

Overall, I was very pleased on this card performance, so I’d like to suggest it to you for mobile internet access wherever you are.
