I am in the process of trying to lose weight. In addition to dieting and walking I wanted to do some form of exercise to tone as I am losing. I have a problem with hand weights because of my arthritis. I had used resistance bands when I was in therapy after having surgery, so I decided to try them for muscle toning.

I purchased Theraband Resistance Bands at Nefitco.com about 6 weeks ago. I bought the light resistance set. It comes with 3 bands, yellow, red and green. The resistance level increases from yellow to green.

These bands came with a little booklet that had a few exercises to do with the bands. I started with these and gradually added in more. I try to do these exercises twice a day for about 15 minutes each time. I have progressed to the green bands and am getting ready to order the next level.

You will not see the same level of toning as with hand weights but these bands do work. I used each color for about 2 weeks until it seemed easy for me to do. I have noted my arms and legs are getting firmer and have more strength.

The bands are available in 2 sets. Light resistance and heavy resistance. The heavy resistance set includes 2 bands, blue and black and costs the same as the light set.
