This CD was released at the same time as its companion disc, Use Your Illusion II. It has sixteen songs on it and they are diverse and, for the most part, very good.
November Rain was the biggest hit off this disc. It is a grand, sweeping ballad that clocks in at over eight minutes long. It's a beautiful song. The song Coma runs even longer, and is more complex sounding. The song really takes the listener on a journey through the song and it doesn't stay put in one style. It is my favorite song off the disc.
Other great songs here are the original version of Don't Cry (the alternate lyrics version is on the other disc), a high energy cover of Live and Let Die, and the bluesy sounding The Garden.
This is a great disc. It has a much more polished sound than their previous works, not sounding nearly as gritty and bare bones. Regardless, it works. It's an eclectic collection of songs from a band at its peak.
