Okay I love to do deep conditioning treatments on my hair at least 3 times a week, sometimes with heat or without or sometimes even overnight. The downside of leaving a deep conditioning treatment in overnight is waking up to wet dripping hair and pillows as your head sweats overnight under the plastic shower cap. The Mizani h2O Intense Night-Time Treatment is not like a deep conditioner but more like a creme hairdress that requires no rinsing so I wanted to try it out!
The product comes in jar with a screw-off lid (see picture). The consistency is more like a whipped hair butter than hair grease (this is a GOOD thing!) and is a rose-peachy colour. The scent in kind of perfumey and intense at first but it looses it strength once applied to your hair. There are some great ingredients in this treatment like glycerin, shea butter and panthenol. It does however contain mineral oil, petrolatum, dimethicone and methylparaben. Notice the low rating I gave it for 'Ingredients'. So if these ingredients don't agree with your hair, I don't recommend you buying this product.
You also don't need to apply a lot of it either as a little goes a long way! I applied about a quarter-sized amount to my hands, rubbed and put on hair starting at the ends first. Then, I'd either twist or plait my hair and call it a night. This could be used daily or as often as needed. I'd wake up to soft, moisturized and shiny hair.
I'm not trying to use more organic products free from mineral oil, petrolatum, sulfates, cones and parabens. While I did appreciate that this product did leave my hair in a conditioned, manageble state after use (without waking up to wet hair which was VERY important this past winter) I will not be repurchasing this product. But if the ingredients don't bother you, this was great to use as an alternative to deep conditioning overnight with conditioner and a shower cap.
