Gigi All Purpose Honee Microwave Kit - no, it's not a bunch of microwave accessories...

All purpose? This was the first question that came to mind, quickly followed by "Can't these people spell?"... I was soon to discover my interpretation of "All Purpose"....

Am I Hairy? - do you care?

Now, as a preface, let me - for my own peace of mind - inform you that I am not a yeti, nor was I an extra in the movie "Gorillas In The Mist", therefore, I had never found the need to go through the supposed hell on earth associated with waxing. However, I am a woman and I thought it would be nice to be extra smooth and silky for my hubby, thus, this one ended up in my cart....

Product Information... Not necessarily the product TRUTH!

According to the manufacturer, this product claims to be a safe, gentle and effective hair removal system and comes complete with pre care lotion, wax, muslin strips and applicators (both in 2 different sizes to accommodate most "areas"). The jar of wax is supposed to be popped in the microwave and should emerge as a thin, spreadable liquid that can be spread easily onto ones skin.....

As far as the contents, yes Gigi was truthful....

The CONSUMER version of the truth

The wax has the consistency of frozen marmalade, therefore, the applicator with which we are to apply this product should have been replaced with a spackle trowel. It's warm, and that's about where the gentle nature of this treatment ends! If one has the patience to smear this goo onto ones skin, then there is an abundance of pleasure to follow - if you are a masochist!

The "what seems like" ample supply of strips turn out to be merely a fraction of what is needed when attempting to rip the skin off ones legs - as that is what this product does. The concoction called "wax" tends to stick to your skin like a play-doh-esque superglue and no soap and water in the world will remove it. This was not a pleasurable experience for a first time waxer (oh! May I add, and LAST time waxer). Now, speaking from presumption, one can only imagine the sheer horror this product must create to a hairier person than myself......

Alternative Usage I realize now that the "all purpose" refers to the fact that this product can easily accommodate the following uses:

Hanging wallpaper Repairing broken ceramics Attaching false nails - when one never wants them to fall off...

Scotlas71, surely you exaggerate?

Quite frankly? No! Sarcasm may be my niche, but only when duly called for, and sadly, my meager attempt at sarcasm pales in comparison to my sheer disappointment with this product.

Besides the fact that this kit comes complete with al the tools needed to fulfill the task of hair removal, there are no other positives I can offer in an attempt to redeem this product. It's beyond redemption.....

Gigi must be a cruel man ..... where did I put my Bic?
