Well, I just came down with one of those nasty spring head colds, where my sinuses are congested, I have a sore throat, and I have this nagging tickle in my throat. I use Halls Mentho-Lyptus Cough Drops when a cold like this comes on, and I find that they really do help to ease the tickle and the soreness in my throat. They also seem to help with opening up my nasal passages somewhat. I have the honey-lemon flavor (not the same as what is pictured). The drops contain advanced vapor action and there are 40 drops in one resealable bag (I was fortunate in being able to get a bag that has 10 free drops, so I guess the usual amount of drops in a bag is 30).
The active ingredient in these drops is menthol, 8 mg, which helps a sore throat and a cough. They don't taste bad either. I just let a drop dissolve slowly in my mouth, which can be repeated every hour as needed. The drops are meant to be a cough suppressant and an oral anesthetic .
I find that Halls Mentho-Lyptus Cough Drops do give me some relief. They aren't miracle workers but any relief when I have a cold is better than none.
