The coffee maker I was using had seen better days, so I was in the market for a new one. During my search for a replacement, I ran across the "one cup" coffee makers and it piqued my curiosity. Upon further research, I decided I didn't want to mess around with coffee ‘pods' to make one cup of coffee at a time. It seemed like too much expense and hassle just for a cup of coffee. I didn't give up the "one cup" idea though, and I'm happy I didn't! I found the Hamilton Beach BrewMaster 12 cup coffee maker. I could still have my coffee served one cup at a time, but it brewed 12 cups at a time! In other words, it brewed like any ordinary drip coffee maker, but dispensed it by the cup-no carafe!
When I got it home, the setup was pretty simple. It consists of a filter basket, and a coffee tank. The coffee tank takes the place of the carafe. Coffee is brewed into the tank, and kept warm with a heating element. When I'm ready for a cup of coffee, I just place my cup in the dispensing area, press back on a lever, and hot coffee pours into my cup! The dispensing area is also tall enough for those thermo-type travel cups, so you're good to go!
When I clean the BrewMaster, all I have to do is lift the coffee tank out and carry it to the sink for washing. The filter basket also easily lifts out, and both have handles for safety.
My main reason for purchasing the Hamilton Beach BrewMaster is because I'm the queen of the scorched coffee pots! I can never remember to turn off my coffee maker! I know there are coffee makers that will turn themselves off, but even so, the coffee always had that "burned" taste from heating surface. The BrewMaster turns off after two hours, but it never tastes bitter due to the fact it's not sitting directly on a hot element The best thing is, I'm not scrubbing burnt coffee from the bottom of my carafes anymore!
Good coffee and less work!
