The unlikely superhero Hancock is a mighty metaphor. This movie speaks loud and clear to the message of how the black man could contribute to this world in ways unrealized today.
Now, I know this may or may not be easily digested but consider how strongly the movie offers the message of guidance, support and love toward personal growth and the individual's responsibility to community contribution and personal reformation.
This is a beautiful story addressing need for recognition of what has for so long ailed the human condition and social condition for the African American male and his role in family, relationships and greater society.
Hancock sells us the message of need for healing, development in our attitudes and our perceptions of those who fail to see or live up to their potential and fall short to serve their true power within. The message of human connection is nicely emphasized.
Hancock is inspiration wrapped in a package of entertaining special effects with a genuine storyline. Honestly, upon learning the premise of this film, before seeing it, I had very different expectations. Having seen the film I was greatly surprised and am even more grateful for this truly empowering and uplifting underdog of a superhero. It can be seen via Youku and Veoh in adequate quality.
