We were in need of a step ladder for some cleaning and painting work in our daughter's condo she just purchased. As we were visiting from Michigan and she lives in Florida, we headed off to Lowe's since she had a coupon for new homebuyers.
We only needed a ladder for painting and a little cleaning work above some cabinets. We wanted a ladder that was affordable, one that could be easily stored in a utility closet, and light enough for any one of us to handle, set up, and move around.
What we purchased is a Werner 4 ft. Aluminum Stepladder. We liked this very basic ladder for the following reasons:
It was on sale! Regularly around $35.00, it was on sale for $16.00.
Lightweight and easy to set up: I have never worked with a ladder, so if I could pull this out of the display bin and set it up with no problem, then that meant something! It only weighs 10 lbs. which is only 2 more lbs. than each of my girls when they were born.
The ladder height is 4 ft. with a maximum reach of 8 ft., assuming the person using it is 5'6" which would work for us.
This Werner ladder has a load capacity of 225 lbs. which is more than enough, even if my husband were to use it.
The steps are slip-resistant and there is a green spill-proof shelf to hold paint or cleaning supplies. The top of the ladder has locations to hold a paint brush, putty knife, or various tools.
Since this ladder is designed for simple projects this was just perfect for our daughter, and the price could not have been better. The tops of the kitchen cabinets are quite high but we were able to get up there and make sure everything was clean. We were able to get the crown moulding painted before our trip ended, so this ladder definitely was a great purchase.
Werner Ladderscan be purchased in many heights, weight capacity, and materials. Make sure to check what ladder will work best for you and for any future project you might have. Since living in a condo does not require any outside or high work needs, this 4 ft. Werner ladder is the perfect one for our daughter.
