I live in a part of Canada where our winters are cold and snowy for about 5 months of the year so having wet boots at the end of the day is common. I received this boot dryer as a Christmas gift from my mother-in-law and it is one of the most used gifts I have received. As soon as my kids get home from school, I place their boots in the dryer. There is a timer on the unit and you can set it for up to an hour. There are 4 extendable and flexible tubes that come out of the unit and you can place one boot on each hose or for greater drying power, stick two hoses in one boot. My husband works outside in construction all day so his boots are always wet when he gets home at night. I place his boots on the dryer for about an hour when he gets home and I also dry them about 20 minutes before he leaves for work in the morning. That way, his boots are toasty warm when he leaves. The unit is easy to hang near an electrical outlet. If you are lucky enough to have a mudroom, then that is the best place to hang it. You can also get an attachment for mittens although I haven't tried that out. If you only need to use two out of the four hoses, there is a shut off valve for the other two hoses. This unit would also be perfect for drying skates and other sports equipment. I feel that this handy appliance is a must have for cold, icy, and slushy winters!
