In my family, we love the holidays and relish giving one another gifts. Even though Valentine's Day is traditionally a romantic holiday, my kin hasn't treated it that way. I have gotten gifts from them like socks with hearts, flowers and other assorted cuteness over the years.
Of course, all this gift-giving is not solely designated to bipeds. Our quadruped fur-babies always get in on the action with cards and gifts! My kitty is my lovebug, and she is always my very special valentine. For V-Day in 2008, I bought her a set of two really cute toys I saw.
I've always loved breaking open fortune cookies at the end of my meal and seeing what the fortunes have to say for my future.
These are made out of 100% cotton. They are stuffed with polyfill and 100% certified organic premium catnip which was grown in the USA. They measure about 3 1/2 inches across. They have cat-centric fortunes attached to them.
I bought this duo a year and a half ago. Due to profuse kitty-enjoyment, the fortune hang-tags have been torn to shreds. I think the messages read: "A long and peaceful nap is in your future" and "Trust in your instinct to scratch things"; both messages had smiley faces on them. When I first received these, they were definitely in perfect condition.
The toys now show wear. The white dots on the red toy are dingy, as is the white fabric on the other toy. It makes sense that these things would not be a bright white like the day I first bought them. Both have stitching that is coming apart at the middle of the toy and around the perimeter. In the beginning, my cat went crazy over the catnip in these but it seems like maybe it has gotten stale. She still chases these when I throw them, but there is not the same frenzy I remember.
That being said, these toys have held their own against my kitty-warrior for a substantial amount of time. They are also unique and adorable. If you're inclined, this is where I got them: link.
