I think these are only made at Christmas, but they are a nice treat.
Hubby bought these at Christmas but forgot to bring them out, so we are enjoying them now, in January. These are quite special. The problem is to eat just a few.
These look like regular Hershey’s milk chocolate kisses, but when you bite into them they are filled with cherry cordial, just like chocolate covered cherries, with more cherry flavor, but without the cherry in the middle. The filling is not as runny as in chocolate covered cherries either. What can I say except “WOW!” It seems like there is a tiny bit of aftertaste from the cordial, but I’m not a discerning enough candy eater to be sure. These aren’t high end candies from a confectioner, after all.
Each kiss has 20 calories (with 7 calories from fat), so if you could discipline yourself to eat just a few it wouldn’t be bad at all for a little sweet treat. The fact that you have to unwrap each one individually at least keeps you from grabbing an entire handful at once.
They are wrapped in deep pink foil, and the foil is recylable. This package has a recipe for Cherry Cordial Thumbprint Cookies on the back. Any chocolate thumbprint cookie recipe would work, and then just use these kisses instead of regular ones.
