I have been in need to getting rid of that ugly gray. I do not have much in the way of play money with this crazy economy. But I wanted it done. To go and get my hair professionally done usually cost me well over $100.00, this was not an option anytime soon.

So the last time I was at Walmart, I walked through the ilse with the hair dye. I decided why the heck not. So I picked up a solid color and this frosting kit and if I did not like it I could easily re-dye it back to a solid color.

I have tried several kits before, and had really good success at using them. This was the first time I tried the kit with the hat.

I felt rediculous when my kids asked me what I had on my head, but who really cares. It seemed easy enough to pulling hair through the holes of the hat. The only thing I would do a littl edifferently is to have someone help so that I could have gotten a little more of the back pulled for highlights.

The instructions are very clear and easy to read. With some of the other kits I have used, there never seemd to be enough of the product to really work with. I have very long hair ( approximately down to my waist along with it being very thick and curly)

Most of the time I have to buy 2 kits to do the job. Not with this kit, one did the trick and I had plenty left over. I was impressed, who ever designed this knows that you need to have plenty of product to work with. I did not do a test strip, but the instructions said to do it, in order to determine how long to keep the product on your hair. This will help you determine the time needed, taking in account your hair color and the end results you want . Once you have pulled your hair through the cap and lathered it up with the product, you place a second cap over your head and secure it, this keeps the product from drying out.

When all said and done, I was at first scared. I had very very blonde looking highlights. But the more I rinsed the more it mellowed. Once I added the strands back with the rest of my hair, it blended very nicely. I will be using this product again when in need of refreshing my hair. So in all the cost to dye and highlight my hair was just around $20.00 much better than over $100.00
