For those of you not familiar with H&M (Hennes & Mauritz) they started shop in Sweden in 1947. the company aims to bring high fashion to the world at rock bottom prices. They have highly regarded designers such as Stella McCartney and Roberto Cavalli making clothes for the masses.
I first stumbled upon H&M when I was a college student on a limited budget. I loved the trendiness. Those days are gone for me, but I was delighted to see a recent mailer from H&M, they have childrens clothes.
Of course I had to rush to the store as soon as I heard. I found some really adorable dresses for my one year old daughter (ranging in price from 4.90 - 14.90) and saw a ton of trendy little tops for less then five dollars.
The quality of the product is as I remember, not the best, but for the price what do you expect. I am delighted to be able to buy my daughter clothes that rock, all the while spending less then I probably would at Target.
that being said some of the downfalls of H&M are that they do not sell there clothes online in America. They also are not yet in every state. It truly was a destination store when I was in my twenties, but I probably wouldn't drive two hours to wardrobe my one year old. The other downfall is that the childrens clothes are not at all of their locations, while they are at the great Northern location in Cleveland you won't find toddler clothes in their Crocker Park Store.
The sizes are a little bit different as well so you will want to try the clothing on your child, but believe me, even for these few downfalls if you can dress your child in H&M they will be the hip little envy of the neighborhood!
Update On Apr 08, 2008: They list all of their locations on their website. If you are like me and drive to your vacation destination check out if there is a store along your trip route.
They childrens clothing are sized form one year to eight years. Theoretically your two year old would wear a size two, but I highly recommend trying on the clothes.
