I had a vacation coming up, so my family and I decided to spend a few days in Chattanooga. I went on the internet in search of a place to stay, and came across the Holiday Inn in Hixson, TN, just right outside Chattanooga. The website stated that this hotel was fairly new and away from the "touristy" area of town, so I made a reservation.

Upon check-in, I discovered that this Holiday Inn had an indoor pool and sauna, and there was an exercise room, filled with various equipment. We went up to our room and, as soon as I opened the door, I knew I had made a good decision. The room was beautiful! The beds were soft and felt like a cloud. The linens looked new and smelled fresh. Each bed had about six pillows, and the pillowcases were embroidered with either soft, medium or firm. I had never seen this in a hotel.

The carpet was clean. I felt comfortable enough to walk around in my bare feet, and this is something I rarely do in a hotel. That's how clean it was.

The room was equipped with a dresser, desk and chair, a large (30 inches, maybe?) flat screen television with cable, HBO, Showtime and hundreds of channels, a closet with sliding mirrored doors, and a safe. The bathroom was georgeous and very clean. The vanity and sink was made from thick tempered glass, and there was an assortment of shampoo, conditioner, lotion and body wash. The bathtub/shower was very clean, so clean that it looked like we were the first people to ever use it. There was a Shower Massage showerhead and the shower curtain rod was bowed out, so the shower curtain wouldn't cling to you as you showered.

We went down to check out the pool area. The pool looked nice and clean and the sauna was oh, so relaxing and warm. The equipment in the exercise room was all in good condition.

The only complaints I have about this hotel are few. First, as we were driving toward the hotel, we passed it up the first time. The sign is very small and very hard to see. Also, the hotel is located in a commercial/retail part of town. There is no view from the hotel windows. Our room looked out onto the back parking lot of a small office building. But, considering everything else, these were minor complaints, and we will definately stay here again, whenever we come back to Chattanooga.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Chattanooga.
