We have a silver 2001 Honda Accord LX. It was the family car for the first 5 years and served us very well. It is now my husband's car and mostly serves to tote him around the city and to work.
We have not had any problems with it and it has only required standard maintenance. The handling is still very tight and the driver feels very much in control. At the same time, this can sometimes make the ride seem a little rough.
The seats are not extremely cushioned, but seem to be comfortable anyway. I took this car on a family trip from Atlanta to Denver (22 hours each way) and no one complained about being uncomfortable, granted we only had one 3 year old in the back seat. It would no longer work for taking the whole family, as the back seat would not accomodate three car seats easily. The backseat does have plenty of leg room however - I am 6 feet tall and can comfortably ride in the back.
We have gotten decent mileage with our Accord and appreciate the classic styling - I still like how the car looks 6 years later.
I would recommend this car to anyone who wants a reliable car. The quality is what you would expect from Honda and we plan to pass this car along to our oldest daughter when she is ready to drive.
