We had been to Ooty for our first honeymoon. It was an amazing experience that we ever had in the mid of November. The Verdant hills, the lush green valleys and the pristine natural beauty of the hill resort of Ooty offers the urban tired souls a chance to resume their affair with Nature, to whom they truly belong. This is a heavenly hill resort that I can comment upon. One of the reasons we loved to visit hill stations is that, they not only offer a relief from the dust and pollution of the city but also give us a chance to see the beauty of nature. The green hills, the cascading waterfalls and sparkling brooks, all make this hill station a delight for the eyes of the urban dweller like us.
One of the major tourist attractions is the Botanical Gardens in Ooty. Both me and my husband are very much fond of gardens and plants. It is a home to an amazing variety of flora. Bird lovers will also love visiting the gardens because there are variety of resident as well as migratory bird species.
We visited the Dodabetta Peak is the highest point in Ooty and commands an absolutely spell binding view of the surrounding landscape. For trekkers this is a wonderful place, for others who can't walk can travel on your vehicle till the top of the hill.
We have seen the serene stretch of the Ooty Lake has a very tranquilizing effect on the minds of the visitors. I am sure you will enjoy boating, fishing and many other water sports here. Also you can have lot of exhibitions and other stalls just around the lake.
Never forget to visit the Lamb Rock which gives you a great picturesque views of the plains of Coimbatore and the tea estates on the mountain slopes. Kodanadu's View Point is the view where you can watch the Moyar river and the falls and also the Ranganatha hills.
Ooty has a very good commuting facilities. The local bus transport is very good. Also the train facility is pretty much cheaper. If you would like to visit from a far of place and travel by plane then you need to land to Coimbatore and then travel to ooty via bus or train.
Ooty has a wide range of hotels such as heritage hotels, First class, Economy class, Delux, etc suitable for various class of people. We had been staying in a semi-delux furnished hotel with 24 hours hot water facility.
I was advising my husband to book a package tour to Ooty. Instead of going for a local tourism we just booked it online. You can chek it out yourself at Book Here For us the total package costed around 4000 Rs excluding food since we prefered to eat seletively. But they even have the food facility in their package.
I would definitely advise you to go to Ooty once in life time either with your husband for honeymoon or even with your family and friends, which is very enjoyable.
