due to the inclement weather situations, I have had the opportunity to stay in several hotels the last week so that I am closer to work and don't have to drive the treacherous roads.

One of those hotels that i had the opportunity to stay at was the Hotel Monaco located in the heart of Downtown Prtland. the hotel is located with one block of Pioneer Square which is the main base for the local bus and train stations. Pioneer Square also has nearby shopping so I was really close if I wanted to face the crowds.

Hotel Monaco is a beautiful hotel 7 floors high with more that 500 rooms to accomodate people. as I said above it is located within walking distance to shopping areas, a local mall, and resturants galore. The hotel also has it's own resturant called the Red Star. They have great food from rotissurie to grilling foods. The prices were very decent and the food was very good.

The hotel itself provided complimentry wine to their guests along with cheeses and nuts. The lobby is beautiflly decorated with two propane fire places where you could sit by the fire and relax.

Inside the rooms there are all the ammenities like a hair dryer, presonal items, like Q-tips, cotton balls, towels, razors, and other personal hygene items (which the other hotels were either out of or didn't provide). They also provide a two person coffee maker along with tea and hot cocoa.

The bell hops and car attendants were very friendly and offered to take our bags as soon as we checked in and the desk attendants were just as nice offering to explain ever ammenitiy in the hotel.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay here and I would reccomend this hotel to anyone that needs one for either business or pleasure.
