I discovered this line of note cards in a small shop in Boonville, New York, and have now found where they can be purchased on line. The House Mouse designs are by Ellen Jareckie.
These are blank cards, about 4 x 5 - the standard note card size. The drawings of the mice are so adorable and whimsical that they just have to make you smile. There are over 75 poses of the little mischief makers to choose from, and that’s just on the blank cards! One has two baby mice peeking out from a chocolate box, and you can just tell from their expressions that they are stuffed to the gills. In another a mouse is holding an acorn cap filled with seeds for two baby chicks.
On another, one mouse is perched on a dandelion seed head and he is blowing seeds at a friend, and the seeds are tickling the other mouse so he is squinting and covering his head. In contrast another card shows a sweet little mouse sleeping under a violet.
One cheerful mouse is standing on a stump beside a bluebird trying to sing like the bird, while on another three little mice are trying to carry off and eat a purple popsicle.
There are also cards available that are not blank, but are for various special occasions, so those would be more in the line of greeting cards.
If I weren’t trying to use up boxes of note cards that came to me after my mother passed away, I would choose to stock up on these and use them for most any occasion when I needed to send a note. I think they are simply irresistible!
You can see the entire selection, and order them on line at House Mouse Antics. If you click on a small image it will appear in the larger window so you can see it better.
Single cards are $1.75 each, 5-9 are $1.50 each, and 10 or more are $1.25 each. There is an online shoppers club you can join to save even more. They can be purchased in pre-selected packs, or you can choose each design individually. I like this option a lot, because packages of note cards always seem to have some cards I like, and some not so much. The paper is slightly textured card stock, white background.
It appears that there is a whole line of merchandise that can be purchased with these designs, in addition to stationery.
