A printer is arguably one of the most important pieces of equipment a college student can have. Conservative scientists estimate that if every college student stopped printing things, we could stop global warming in about twenty minutes. That's not true, but my first point still stands: a good, solid printer is all but essential in a modern college setting. It certainly beats waiting in line for the opportunity to print at some central library. I picked up my HP Deskjet a year ago from Staples. It was on sale, and I needed a printer, so it was really more a marraige of convinience more than anything. I suppose I got lucky, because it's a fantastic printer.
I don't print too many things on my personal printer, but I'm certainly no slouch when it comes to deforestation. The HP's ink stores have lasted me quite a while (I've only had to replace it twice). When it comes to printing speed, the machine functions rather efficiently, and I've had no problems with it breaking down. All in all, it's a solid machine, and a recommended buy.
