This is the second HP Deskjet printer that I have owned. My first one was purchased about four years ago and it still works as good as new. I ended up giving it to a family member so I could have this newer model which has a style that blends in better with my home office.

The product is nice-looking and very compact for all the services that it provides. It is almost entirely black and acts as a printer, scanner and copier. I haven't used the scanner on this model, but it worked fine on the old model. I rarely have the need to scan things. I probably use it 90% for printing things and 10% for copying. It takes care of both activities just great. It doesn't seem like the fastest machine (compared to the equipment at my workplace at least) but it gets the job done just fine.

Setup was painless for me. My PC runs on Windows XP and after installing the software that comes with the product, I was up and running without any problems. The only complaint I have in that regard is that it took quite a while for all the software to completely download.

The printer comes with one color and one black cartridge. The only thing missing that you absolutely need (besides paper) is a USB cable to connect the product to your PC. You should be able to pick one up for around five dollars if you don't have one already around the house from a different device.

In all, this is a great machine and I would recommend it for home use. The machine is a great printer and it is nice to have the added bonus of a copier and scanner for when you need it. It's also a nice-looking product that is pretty quiet when it is completing a task.
