The HP All In One printer is a printer, copier, fax and scanner. I was very pleased. It works a bit slow as a printer connected to a PC, (it is supposed to be 16 to 19 pages per minute, but somehow seems slower when printing verses copying) but it prints well on multiple mediums of paper and transparencies and it works as a copier very quickly without the streaky lines seen with many home copiers - copies look as good as originals with a 1200 x 1200 DPI for all print jobs. The fax is easy to hook up and I was pleased with the scanners' capabilities. I disliked that if the color ink runs out, the black ink will not print even if it is full. This requires keeping spares of both the color and the black ink on hand. A feature I did like is a warning light that tells you when the ink has only about 20% remaining so you have enough time to buy some ink. There is also a good panel of displays and buttons that are easy to understand (without reading the manual) to know what is going on - such as if the machine is warming up or scanning or dialing to fax, etc. I prefer this to machines that do not tell you anything and appear idle while preparing a print or fax job. I also like that while not completely silent, it is not as noisy as many printers and copiers. I consider this ideal for home office use and it has probably been my favorite printer.
