After literally years of driving Honda Civics, it was time for me to get an SUV. I needed one with enough space to accomidate a very large dog as well as three children, one in a booster seat and another in an infant seat. I knew I didn't want to spend a ton of money, and I wanted something reliable. So off I went to my local Honda dealership to check out my options. I saw a few I liked but none seemed to really fit my needs. Hyundai was right down the street, so I decided to give them a try. Several of my family members drive Hyundais and love them. It turned out that the Santa Fe was the car for me.

I like almost everything about my car. I got one with third row seating so that I could tote extra kids if I needed to. Mine is gray and it kind of looks like a happy hippo. I like the way it feels when I drive it, and I find it easy to manuever. I don't care too much about performance. I'm just into safety and making sure I don't break down on the highway somewhere. This car's terrific. So far I haven't needed anything but regular maintenance. Gas milage is much worse than my old Civics but much better than other SUVs.

There are only two things I dislike about this SUV. One is the huge bars on either side of the windshield. They are thick, and they block a whole lot. You have to look very carefully when you make a turn, particularly when there are pedestrians around. The other problem with the Santa Fe is the lack of an mp3 connection.

Other than those two small issues, I love my hippo!
