Do you love Steven Colbert? Do you love reading? Then I have the ultimate combination for you. Ladies and gentlemen, the amazing man himself has wrote a book entitled I Am America: And So Can You! If you love the show, you should check it out.
The book is a personal collection of Colbert’s views on things in life(for comedic purposes I hope.. otherwise he's a very odd person). Every chapter cover a certain topic and he'll tell you what he thinks of it, his advice, and things of the sort. Every chapter is like watching an episode of the Colbert Report, in that it's hilarious and you don't want to shut off the TV until it's over. If you love his jokes and his personality, then this book will be really hard for you to put down.
The book isn't relatively long though unfortunately, only coming in at 230 pages, with most of them having big pictures(some only having pictures of him on them), so this one won't be a long read for almost any reader. But due to it's random humor, it's worth more than one read.
While every chapter is hilarious, each chapter ends with a little segment called "Steven speaks for me" in which Steven Colbert says what he thinks people would say after reading that certain chapter. While on TV it's funny when Colbert does this, in the book, I found these sections to just be a waste of a read. They have their funny moments, but otherwise, they are just dry pages that I had no problem skipping over each time I've read the book.
So for all the Colbert fans out there or any fan of funny books, get this for them. It's not a long read but you'll find yourself or your friends reading this book over and over again and quote it like any of the funny blockbusters out in theatres right now.
