The I-CY penguin is one of the mp3-player toys offered by Hasbro. These toys are supposed to be reasonable mp3 players that also light up and move while playing. However, the cons vastly outweigh the pros since the only thing going for it are flashy lights, battery life, and a tilting motion as it plays the music.
The list of negatives about this product is long. First, the audio quality is horrendous. The music you hear playing is good enough that you know what you're playing, but aside from that you can't really enjoy this product as a simple speaker. Secondly, unlike its earlier counterparts, the I-CY penguin does not follow the beats with its lights nor does it move to the music. Odd that a later product fails when its earlier models succeeded. Another bad point is that the size and shape of the product prevent you from using it elsewhere, but it's not made for portability anyway so the point is moot. Last, the ease of use is lacking as it has a beak and tail to push and there are about 10 commands total using these two buttons.
The only extra feature is that the penguin gets "happy" when you allow it to play more songs, but by "happy" the product really means annoying since the toy will start to randomly display colors and make sounds even when your mp3 player is not plugged in.
