The song "I Will Praise You In This Storm" has gotten me through some pretty difficult times in the last year or so. It is on the CD "Lifesong" by Casting Crowns, released in 2005. In fact, this song means so much to me that I decided to teach a sermon on it in January (while filling in for my pastor), and I plan to do an expressive sign worship presentation to it. If you haven't heard it, find it on YouTube and listen. I think it will touch you deeply also.
The CD has a contemporary pop sound, and if you haven't heard Christian music in awhile, I think you will be pleasantly surprised to hear how it's changed. Casting Crowns doesn't take it too far though, and their songs really minister to everyone. Other tracks include, "Does Anybody Hear Her?", "Set Me Free", "Love Them Like Jesus" and many additional songs.
Their focus is discipleship through music. They have won 23 Dove Awards, a Grammy, and an AMA Award. Mark Hall, their lead singer has been a youth minister for 18 years, and the songs are birthed out of messages to the youth. All the members of Casting Crowns serve as youth ministers in their local churches. So their music is not just for show. It's created to bring people closer to the Lord, and to help them in their daily walk with Him.
I think everyone would enjoy this wonderful CD!
