Ice Climber is a cooperative game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It features two eskimos named Nana (pink parka) and Popo (blue parka). You must traverse thirty two levels using only your wooden mallets. These large wooden weapons could be used to clobber enemies and to break ice blocks.
This game pits you against topis, nitpickers, polar bears and yetis. Later stages even have falling icycles and slippery floors. All these obstacles are put in your way to prevent you from getting to the top of the mountain and retrieving stolen vegetables from the condor.
The game is a fun cooperative game as you both have to work together in order to advance in the mountain. The music is also very engaging. The graphics however are dated as this released more than two decades ago. But for its time these graphics were pretty good. The game is easy to learn but not as easy to master since each stage is progressively more difficult with more baddies and obstacles.
This game may be nowhere near the production quality of today's games but that does not at all lessen its fun factor. Games are not always about cinema quality sound or 3D animation. They are also about fun.
