Iced was an entertaining book in the Regan Reilly series written by Carol Higgins Clark, daughter of author Mary Higgins Clark.
In Iced, private investigator Regan Reilly is trying to enjoy a ski vacation with her parents in Aspen, Colorado. I say trying because something always seems to come up when Regan is around. When paintings disappear from one of the vacation homes and the caretaker, Eben Bean, disappears at the same time, he is the prime suspect. Regan doesn't believe he is the actual thief, even though Eben was in prison in the past, which certainly makes him look guilty. Despite that, Regan still believes he is innocent. She sets out to prove that Eben is not the art thief, but it isn't easy when she doesn't have any idea where Eben is.
Iced was enjoyable, a fun book to read. I don't think Carol Higgins Clark is quite as good of a writer as her mother, but I do enjoy her writing style, and Regan Reilly is a very likable heroine. I've enjoyed all of the Regan Reilly mysteries that I've read thus far, with Iced being no exception.
