My jaw dropped to the floor the first time I saw Ichi the Killer. Those Japanese people have no shame when it comes to horror flicks, and this movie shows it! Takashi Miike created this movie and did a great job on it, too. However, this movie is not for the faint of heart and could make you vomit and/or pass out while watching it.
The movie is about sado masochism and emotional manipulation. A sadistic, pain-loving yakuza named Kakihara has to find his boss who went missing for no reason. Kakihara discovers his boss has been murdered, and a man named Jijji is behind it. Kakihara's rival is a man who goes by the name of Ichi; a psychopathic killer who sees himself as being a hero.
Kakihara sets out to find Ichi, not so that he can reap justice for the death of his boss, but so he can have pain inflicted upon him by Ichi. In this movie all hell breaks loose!
This movie is depraved in so many ways. I don't mean to spoil this one part for those who have never seen it, but there is a scene where Kakihara slices off his own tongue with a small knife! Still want to see the movie? Then buy the DVD on Amazon, and prepare to be mentally scarred. This movie has an R-rating for a reason!
