We love this easel! It's great for the kids to draw on. One side is a chalkboard, while the other is a dry erase board. You can also have a roll of paper underneath to pull through the top that the children can draw or paint on.
So far we've used the chalkboard quite a bit. It erases well. We also color with crayons on the paper. I'm not ready for paint yet - I just don't think I can handle to potential mess my two and three year old will make.
Ikea does recommend it for children three and up, but my two year old has used it without a problem. Since it folds, you need to make sure the tray is completely locked into place to prevent any accidents. We've never had a problem, and my children tend to be a little rough.
Overall, we've really enjoyed having this easel to encourage our children's creativity.
