I hate wearing mascara. It always clumps on my lashes making them - and me - look silly. It always smudges under my eyes. Since I have dark circles under my eyes to begin with, a mascara that adds darkness under my eyes is not attractive or preferred.

I've tried drugstore brands [Maybelline, L'Oreal, Almay] and more expensive brands [Lancome, Bobbi Brown, Prescriptives, Clinique]. They all clump or smudge or both. So, for a long time - years - I stopped wearing mascara unless I was "going out" or had a formal affair. And then, I'd only wear it with great caution and trepidation.

Last spring, I heard about IMJU's Fiberwig. I'd heard it didn't clump. I'd heard it didn't smudge. I was leery. Given the price, I was more than a little bit leery. Frankly, I was tired of trying the latest and greatest and best-reviewed and make-up-artist-recommended mascaras only to be disappointed. But, I decided to give it a go.

I am really glad I did. Fiberwig does not clump. Fiberwig does not smudge. It stays put on my lashes until I take it off. It comes off with warm water! I don't even need eye-makeup remover to take it off. Doesn't sting my eyes when I take it off.

Best of all, it really gives my lashes a LOT of length. I can *see* my eyelashes getting longer as I apply consecutive coats. The formula contains fibers that literally lengthen the lashes while you're wearing the product - it doesn't lengthen permanently. I've gotten the same [better?] results from Fiberwig that I've gotten from using false eyelashes without the glue and the mess and the frustration of trying to apply fake eyelashes "just so".

Once, I tried applying another coat after the mascara had dried. It clumped a bit. Easy to remedy, just apply all coats while the product is wet.

Anyway, I love it and now wear mascara every day. I love how it makes my lashes look and really opens up my eyes.

I gave "Selection" a mid-range score because the product is only available in black, as far as I know.
