After watching numerous episodes of Ina Garten's show, The Barefoot Contessa, on the Food Network, I recently decided to purchase one of her cookbooks. Although she has several to choose from (six in total), I decided on her original cookbook, which was published in 1999. In the short time that I have had this book, it has fast become one of my favorites. The recipes are easy to follow, and most importantly the food is delicious. Some of the recipes that I have tried so far include pan fried onion dip and French potato salad. I can't wait to try the turkey meatloaf for dinner this week. In addition to the excellent recipes, Ina also provides the reader with useful cooking/food preparation tips, numerous pictures, and anecdotal stories from her cooking experiences. Overall, I believe that this book would make a great addition to anyone's personal cooking library.
