Processors Processor Intel Core I7

I remember those old days, using the slow Pentium I, Pentium II and Pentium III processors. Then came the new Pentium IV processors which changed a lot in the world of computing. Earlier I was using a Dual core processor but was not really enjoying working with it as many latest games and software ran very slow on it. I needed something more powerful. I knew that the way things are going on in the world of computers there’s soon going to be a new generation of processors, which would be more powerful and efficient than ever before. Then in the first quarter of 2010, Intel introduce the 2nd generation of Processors with better performance, faster speed and a host of new technologies incorporated in them.

I was very excited and I wanted to get myself the best among these beasts. I searched and searched through all the specifications and benchmarks that were available and finally decided to but the Intel® Core™ i7-980X Processor Extreme Edition. Using it is like transferring from a cycle to a jet engine powered vehicle. The difference in the performance and speed is truly realized when playing high end games and performing high-end graphics tasks.

This is really a very powerful processor. It’s a rejoice for multitaskers, as you can work with as many programs you desire and still you will see no lag in the performance. No matter what you do like playing intense 3D games, creating and editing music, photos, videos etc, you can do all these with the high performance platform capabilities of Intel X58 Express Chipset-based motherboards. Along with this processor I have installed 4 2GB DDR3 RAMs (total 8GB RAM) which makes my machine and really beast. While purchasing the processor I had to make sure that it can handle all the intense 3D gaming applications like a breeze. And I have to admit that I am impressed if not overwhelmed by how smooth and realistic each game application looks and feels like. All these are made possible by distributing the AI, physics and rendering across six cores and 12 threads, which brings the 3D to life for Ultimate gaming experience.

I will briefly refer to some important specifications that might help you.

1. Core speed is 3.46 GHz (Up to 3.73 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology).

2. It has 6 cores and 12 processing threads.

3. Has Intel Smart Cache of 12 MB

4. 3 Channels DDR3 1066 MHz memory

5. 32nm processor

6. Does not include and integrated graphics

7. Has Execute Disable Bit feature

8. Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology

9. Does not have Intel Demand Based Switching

10. Supports Intel Virtualization Technology

This processor is meant for extreme gaming and graphics related tasks. So if you are looking for something that can bring virtual games to real life experience then I would suggest you for this processor. Currently it is a bit pricy but the extra buck is worth it. Before purchasing this processor make sure you have a motherboard that can support the Intel® Core™ i7-980X Processor.
