This came to me in a very small package. I know it's an mp3 but it got me thinking how would I operate it given that it's a very small player. I did not expect it to come with a manual but it did and apple was thoughtful enough to put in 2 small apple stickes with it. I think that was cool. Then the ear phones and the usb cable for easy connectivity to your computer. All these in a small transparent package. So, i plugged it in immediately to my computer, started to put songs in it and charged the battery a bit, just enough so I can try it. But it did not play. All was in mp3 and wmv formats but it did not work. That's when I opened the manual and soon discovered that I still need to download the software and register the product online. So I did. I had to do some trial and error to learn the sowftware and soon learned how to convert the files to the one which the shuffle would play it and turned it on again. Although there was a conversion that transpired, the quality of music was not compromised especially after the .wmv files have been compressed. The software is brilliant. You could also update your iPod Shuffle using it with just a few clicks on the mouse. The battery life was not so impressive but considering it's size, it is understandable. It's easy to carry it around and you could just simply clip it to your clothes or your bag and you're good to go. But it's hard for me to navigate through the songs to find a certain one that I wanted to listen to. So i suggest that you only put the songs that you really intend to listen to.
