The Iron Out toilet tank tablets did a little tiny bit at improving our toilet bowl, but I had to used comparative photos to actually see it.
These are tablets that you drop in the corner of the toilet tank and they are supposed to repel iron and hard water stains.
Our toilet is perfectly awful. The bowl is badly stained with rust and deep blue from a product that hubby used while I was away at grad school (if I knew which one that was you can believe I’d review it!).
I bought these this summer and put one in the tank following directions. They suggest a new one every month, but meanwhile I lost the other half of the package. Found it today and put in the second tab, long overdue of course.
Now, I was prepared to say that this tablet didn’t do anything at all. However, I had taken a photo of the bowl the day that I put the first one in. I’ll spare you those pictures! I took another one today, and compared side-by-side, I can clearly see that the blue stain is lighter. There is no change at all in the rust stains.
I can’t say that I’ve noticed that it makes the bowl any easier to clean, or that I have to clean it less often, which seems to me should be the case if it is repelling iron and hard water stains.
It says that it does not make the bowl water toxic in case your kids or pets get into the toilet, although it recommends that you not allow this, duh! It has no scent.
