My brother-in-law purchased this pipe wrench for the purpose of loosening an extremely hard to remove bolt on a classic car he is restoring. The pipe wrench itself seems to be of sturdy construction, though it was not able to do the job my brother-in-law wanted done. But he mentioned that no wrench he used in his collection of tools was able to work on this particular bolt very well, so that doesn't mean that this pipe wrench wouldn't be good for other jobs.
I don't know if the wrench is going back to the store, since my brother-in-law purchased it for that one particular job. He may decide to keep it anyway. When restoring classic cars, I guess you can never have enough tools, and where one fails, another may work.
The pipe wrench itself comes with a lifetime guarantee. It has a good grip and can handle up to 1 1/2" pipe diameters. It really is great as a plumbing tool. It is a quick adjusting wrench, with claims of being 3x faster in adjusting than other wrenches.
As I said, I'm not certain my brother-in-law will be hanging on to this particular tool. It is a good pipe wrench, but since he needed it for a specific job and it wasn't able to perform that job, he may return it. But keep in mind that he was using it for something other than working on pipes, which is the main purpose of this wrench.
