I had the oportunity to rent an Amigo heavy duty mobility scooter for a week.
The scooter that I rented was a pretty basic model, no lights or baskets. The ride of the scooter was very nice. The speed was either fast or slow, as I adjusted it with the simple controls, and the suspension was very smooth.
The seat was comfortable enough, although not as padded as a Rascal.
The "ignition" key was a little loose and sometimes had to be wiggled in order to turn the key into the on position. Als, sometimes going up a steep hill the scooter would stop and had to be turned on and off. This was a common occurance and something that I was told about upon renting the unit. I did not find it terribly problematic, however, and I think that I only had a problem going up a hill once or twice.
The seat was a swivel seat to allow easy entry and exit to the scooter.
The seat did not go up and down, however it was set at a hieght that I thought was comfortable.
There was an onboard charger and the unit held a charge for many miles. If going out for a long day, I do suggest a mini charge at lunchtime, just to be on the safe side.
Overall I did like the Amigo scooter, but I preferred the Rascal.
