What comes to mind when you think of Jack Lalanne? The man's a fitness expert. He's a senior citizen now, but he's still healthy and strong. I met him a couple years ago.

Now, I see commercials for the Jack Lalanne juicer all the time. Its so popular, its even available in big stores like Macy's. Jack Lalanne comes across as a credible guy, but this product is too expensive and doesn't deliver. Its more hassle and doesn't work any better than a regular juicer. My personal preference is the one we owned before buying the Jack Lalanne Juicer - that one was made by Hamilton Beach and is significantly cheaper.

First of all, you can't put in ripe fruits because that causes jams. And every few minutes, the thing freezes up and you need to figure out what's wrong. It's annoying to dissasemble and clean. Also, as the juice comes out, you get a lot of droplets spraying about. Its just annoying and needs more cleanup. With the Hamilton Beach juicer, we ran into no problems. It even comes with an entire list of things to check through to figure out what may be the problem when it jams. That's way too annoying!

You can't throw in whole fruits like apples in either one, but when we tried beets, the Lalanne juicer actually broke down! The Hamilton Beach juicer worked, but we had to cut it up into smaller pieces.

In the end you're not getting more juice, just wasting tons of money on fruits to make very little juice. So save some money and buy a different juicer, don't go for this Jack Lalanne Juicer.
