The Raconteurs started as Jack Whites side project, and Consolers of The Lonely is Their second album following their hughly successful Broken Boy Soldier. This album absolutey rocks from start to finish, but not afraid to try something new mr White uses Horns and some seriously abnormal effects to get that perfect sound that is most diffently unique to The Raconteurs. What i like most about this album is that it grows on you, the more you hear it the better it gets. From the hughly complicated sounds of The Switch and the Spur till the very simple sound of top yourself this album hits the mark. Unlike many other bands out their at the minute these guys know how to piece together a song with a story as Carolina Drama cleary proves.

I must admit i was never a fan of Jacks guitar playing wile he was in the white stripes, the riffs and solo's on this album have me preasing him as the new age Jimmy Page. I hope this Isnt the last we hear from the Raconteurs for if they keep the trend of the first two albums up they could surely gain themselfs the title of Rock Gods of the modern era.

For me Consolers of the lonely was the best album of 2008 so if you dont already have a copy, run out to the shop and get one. This album is diffently not to be missed.
