I used Jergens Natural Glow Moisturizer for a while back in the summer and it didn't work as well as I had expected it to. I am very, very pale so I used the one that is for fair skin tones (which I think might have been why it didn't work so well. Despite being as pale as I am, perhaps I should have used one for medium skin tones).
This lotion is supposed to create a natural looking fake tan, but I was barely able to tell any difference in my skin color at all. I was afraid if I used the one designed for medium skin tones that I would look way too dark, but I don't think that would ever be a problem for anyone. So for those of you that are considering buying this product I would recommend going up a shade higher than what you actually want.
This lotion is supposed to be a moisturizer as well. I didn't really feel like it moisturized my skin very well, but it didn't dry me out either. It's also supposed to tighten and firm your skin. I never felt like it made my skin look any tighter, but when you apply it you can definitely feel a slight tingling sensation (which isn't unpleasant or anything and goes away within a few minutes).
The good thing about this product is that it is very easy to use. Unlike some of the older self tanners you don't have to worry about messing up and having any weird-looking spots or streaks. You apply this lotion every day to the areas you want to tan and within a few days you should start to see a natural looking glow starting to appear. The directions say it should take about 2 weeks to see the full effect, but I used it every day for about a month and barely noticed a difference. As I said earlier, perhaps I should have used one meant for medium skin tone (which is what I plan to do next summer).
Of course, once you apply this lotion you have to wait a few minutes for it to dry completely or else you might risk getting some of it on your clothes. This product doesn't contain any sunscreen so if you're going to be in the sun you still need to put on regular sunscreen. I'm not sure if using sunscreen on top of this lotion would affect it in any way (and there isn't anything on the bottle about that).
This lotion also has a scent to it. It isn't an unpleasant scent but I prefer unscented products. So if you like to wear perfume that might be an issue for you.
So once again, if you're looking for a self tanner and you want to buy this product, I recommend going up a shade to get the effect you really want. But if you're looking for something that will be a good moisturizer and/or skin tightener I have to say pass on this product.
