Jersey Boys is a Tony Award winning Broadway musical currently playing in New York City at the August Wilson Theatre. It is basically the story of how the singing group The Four Seasons came together. It shows the struggles that they went through in their lives, as well as the huge success that they became.
Jersey Boys also has all of the great songs that the Four Seasons sang. I wasn't terribly familiar with the group before I saw the show, but I did know a lot of their songs. I thought that it was very interesting to learn about their lives. The music was also a lot of fun, of course, but I did find that since the songs are so popular some people in the audience decided to sing along with them. I paid to hear the people on stage sing, not them!
Tickets for Jersey Boys range from $96-$121. It is definitely not a cheap show to see, and I found that they very rarely offer any discounts, since it frequently sells out. I purchased a student ticket for $25 when I saw the show, but unfortunately, they do not offer those anymore. They do sell standing room tickets for $27 on the day of the show at the box office. So that would be the least expensive way to see the show.
Overall, I thought that Jersey Boys was good, but I didn't love it, and I certainly don't think that it is worth paying the $96-121 ticket prices that they are asking.
